Nuova Transition Covert
Transition lancia la nuova Covert da allmountain. Si tratta di una trail/enduro bike con 150mm di travel posteriore e tubazioni idroformate. Il sistema è un 4 punti d’infulcro standard con leveraggio in pezzo unico ricavato dal pieno. Il telaio è stato progettato per essere montato con forclle da 160mm d’escursione. La bici completa montata con sospensioni Fox come da foto sta sui 12,8 Kg. La Covert sarà disponibile in tre taglie, S, M e L. Altezza movimento centrale 354mm, angolo di sterzo 67° e lunghezza carro posteriore 433mm per una bici che promette di trovarsi a prorpio agio soprattutto in discesa oltre che in salita. Scatola sterzo conica con doppio standard 1 1/8″ – 1.5″. La Covert dovrebbe essere disponibile a partire da fine Giugno. Di seguito alcune immagini, al link in basso il video della presentazione.

Archiviata la prima prova di Coppa Italia DH 09
Si è da poco conclusa la prima trasferta fuori dai confini regionali per il team Etna DH Division – Malettobike powered by Pro-Bike. La località alpina di Prarostino (Torino) ha ospitato infatti la prima prova della Coppa Italia downhhill 2009. Al cancelletto di partenza si sono presentati diversi big internazionali, oltre agli italiani Marco Milivinti e Carlo Gambirasio erano presenti Ben Reid, Nathan Rankin, Brook MacDonald, Shaun O’Connor, Matthew Scoles e Aari Barrett. Il team siciliano ha affrontato questa gara di categoria internazionale UCI 3 con i suoi piloti di punta; l’under 23 Nicotra Gianluca e l’elite Nicotra Giuseppe. Il percorso veramente difficile e l’alto livello degli avversari hanno tenuto sulle corde i due atleti siciliani, che solo nella giornata di domenica sono riusciti a trovare un miglior feeling con il percorso. Dopo una run di qualifica abbastanza sfortunata, che ha costretto i due piloti a partire con un pettorale alto, è andata meglio la run di gara, con Luca Nicotra che chiude con il tempo di 03:11:68 entrando nei top 50° e chiudendo in top 20° tra gli under 23. Sfortunata la run di Giuseppe Nicotra, inccappato nell’ennesima caduta di questa trasferta che lo ha costretto ad un tempo decisamente alto. Sicuramente ancora piu’ convinto delle proprie possibilità il team Etna DH Division – Malettobike powered by Pro-Bike sarà presente a Santa Ninfa (Trapani) per la terza prova della Coppa Sicilia DH, con tanta voglia di dimostrare il suo reale valore.
